Lake Lucerne’s “Stadt Luzern” cruises again

Steamboat «Stadt Luzern», Lake Lucerne

It is the largest and most impressive passenger boat on Lake Lucerne and also the youngest steamer of the fleet: two and a half years after the start of its revision, the Queen of Lake Lucerne “Stadt Luzern” makes its comeback and steams over the lake again as of today.

The majestic paddle steamer Stadt Luzern is the proud flagship of Lake Lucerne, leading an impressive fleet that includes 18 other vessels. Originally built in 1928 as the last steamboat for a Swiss lake, the stately boat can look back on a rich history and has hosted numerous illustrious guests during the past 90 years. Over 80 000 hours of labor have been invested into returning this wonderful boat to its original glory and historic luster. Among other things, the art deco interior and the furniture have been painstakingly and faithfully renovated. Today, 1 May 2021, the paddle steamer re-enters public service.

The boat will also be used for special culinary cruises such as Wine & Dine or Jazz & Steam. Naturally, this amazing boat can also be chartered for private cruises, such as corporate events, elegant weddings or unique family celebrations.
