Every year, thousands of visitors travel across the “country of cheese and chocolate” by train, bus and boat. And each of them has their own story to tell. We collected the most beautiful ones.
Manan Manukyan (31), banker, Jerewan, Armenia
“I’ve scheduled two weeks with my two ‘gal pals’, my female friends, for our first Swiss vacation. It’s a dream come true! With the Swiss Half Fare Card, travelling by train, bus and boat becomes quite affordable even for us. My home country Armenia is a bit like Switzerland: a small country with many mountains. But a traffic network as dense and well-organised as here in Switzerland remains wishful thinking at home. Whether travelling in Ticino, in the Bernese Oberland or in the western part of Switzerland: We always found means of transportation to take us to the desired destination in short order. Thus, we easily reached the Swissminiatur, the St. Beatus Caves, and the Harder Kulm. This may have been my first but it certainly won’t be my last Swiss holiday.”
