The great variety of offers for international arrivals by rail has been expanded again in 2018. Up to three countries can now be traversed on one and the same train. A guarantee for comfortable travel without changing trains.

Swiss cities have much to offer: tradition, culture, gastronomy and delightful locations at lake shores and riversides. Those who wish to explore the charms of Swiss cities are well advised to decide on convenient arrival by train. The wide range of offers for travelling to Switzerland by rail is continually being expanded.

As of 2018, the following new direct connections have been established:

  • Venice to Zurich. The train runs via Milano and requires no change of trains. The service on this route is now offered daily.
  • Milano to Frankfurt on the Main: This new railway offer is a tri-national connection and is serviced by an ETR610 high velocity train called Johann Wolfgang Goethe. The train runs once daily between Milano and Frankfurt on the Main and traverses Switzerland via Lugano, Lucerne and Basel.

More connections for arrival from Germany, France, Italy and Austria can be found here.
