GoldenPass Scenic Route

From Zweisimmen to Montreux

Map GoldenPass Panoramic

During the journey along the GoldenPass scenic route, the Bernese Oberland with its rich tradition wonderfully blends with the Mediterranean atmosphere of the French-speaking Swiss region. Large panoramic windows allow travellers to experience up close the landscape so rich in variety – year-round.

The GoldenPass scenic route runs from Zweisimmen in the Bernese Oberland towards Montreux, the fashionable resort on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The GoldenPass Panoramic and the GoldenPass Belle Epoque are operated by the Montreux Bernoise Oberland Railway (MOB). They travel several times daily on the final part of what was known as the GoldenPass Line, which starts in Lucerne and leads to Zweisimmen via Interlaken. On the last stretch, the train winds its way down the hill and is greeted by real Mediterranean flair in Montreux.

The GoldenPass Belle Epoque is reminiscent of the Orient Express, exuding a flair of the golden age. The coaches combine comfort, elegance and romance, turning any journey into a special experience.

On the GoldenPass Panoramic, selected coaches are equipped with VIP seats with an unobstructed view ahead at irregular intervals. These seats cannot be reserved in advance but can be booked against a surcharge payable to the train staff on the spot in case such a coach is part of the train composition.
